Inspired by one of the most talented skiers we’ve ever known, The Billy Poole Beanie is as bold and unique as the man himself. Each hat is a one-of-a-kind piece hand-knitted from homespun wool.
Always a member of the Discrete family . Billy brings us motivation every single day. We’re sure he’d approve.
Only 50 Discrete Billy Poole Beanies were made:

Ahh, Facebook. Doer of deeds done great, yet always toying with my tender ski bum heart. Why do you throw those little curve-balls which present a snafu of a situation to a wandering rubbertramp? You have been so kind and generous to me, casting me in that familiar bluish glow from the little pixels neatly arranged on my laptop monitor. To a weary traveler found alone in the cold, snowy night, you have helped me find lost friends only to be lost again amongst the many other trials proffered on the open Winter roads. Yet still you present me with circumstances to which I cannot comprehend; circumstances that are most unfortunate.
Due to Facebook’s privacy settings, I am finding myself incapable of leaving a comment on a photo someone posted of my good friend. So, Casey, I just wanted to say this to you: "Great job, my friend. Let’s get ready for more!"
Today, an entire community of skiers and hard-chargers collectively crashed the servers in an attempt to register for the 2009 Freeskiing World Tour. As the minutes ticked by, and the registration scheduled time passed, mouses were clicked in anticipation of some huge spending on registration fees. Refresh buttons were pushed frantically as men, women, girls and boys all found themselves confused and worried about their skiing futures.
The following is a Facebook status ‘party’ tracking the frustrations and wit of a group of such freeskiers. Enjoy!
Caught this little clip online thanks to a Facebook page from my friend Marielle. The three athletes in the clip – Jonny Mosely, Daron Rahlves, and Jenn Berg – also star in the Warren Miller movie I’m currently MCing. The three of them showed up at the San Francisco, CA Palace of Fine Arts show and I was lucky enough to interview them on stage in front of about 1000 ski fans.
The newest TGR Hot Threads is about my good friend Dave Elkan, another TeamAwesomeRadGnar member. Turns out he got a sweet full page picture in the December 2008 Powder magazine for a Snowmass ad, his home mountain. I’m still stuck out here in the city, so it’s difficult to find any ‘ski porn’, but I bet the photo is sweet! (editor’s note: I found a copy in a little ski shop off Hwy101 and the picture IS sweet! )

Congrats Dave, and I can’t wait to ski with ya this winter! And, yeah, now you can wear those sunglasses at night, playa.
